Our schools should be focused on one thing above all giving every child the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. That means strengthening academics, improving school safety, increasing accountability, and making sure parents are respected as essential partners in education. Too many families feel their concerns are ignored, while students are not consistently seeing the results they deserve. It’s time to refocus on the basics, raise expectations, and put students back at the center of every decision.
Stronger Academic Performance
We must raise expectations and put student achievement first in every classroom. That means strengthening reading, math, writing, and critical thinking skills so students are truly prepared for college, careers, military service, or any path they choose after graduation. Too many students are falling behind, and we need a renewed focus on proven instruction, strong standards, and measurable results. Every child deserves a high-quality education that challenges them appropriately, supports them when they struggle, and helps them build real-world skills for long-term success.
Safer Schools & Student Well-Being
Parents should never have to question whether their child is safe at school, and students should never feel unsafe in the place where they are meant to learn and grow. We need strong, consistent discipline policies, safer campuses, and a school culture that promotes respect and responsibility. At the same time, we must take student mental health seriously by ensuring access to appropriate support systems, counselors, and early intervention resources. Safety and well-being are not optional—they are the foundation for all learning and must always come first.
Parental Rights & Transparency
Parents are the most important voice in their child’s education, and their role must be respected, protected, and strengthened. Schools should operate with full transparency, clear communication, and a commitment to keeping families informed every step of the way. That includes timely updates, open access to curriculum information, and meaningful opportunities for parents to engage with teachers and administrators. When parents are included as true partners, students perform better, trust is strengthened, and the entire system becomes more effective and accountable.
Accountability & District Direction
Families want leadership that is focused, effective, and willing to take responsibility for results. When academic performance stalls or confidence in the system declines, it is time for a change in direction. Our schools must be guided by clear goals, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Taxpayer dollars must be spent wisely and efficiently, with a focus on outcomes rather than bureaucracy. Accountability means setting high standards, measuring progress honestly, and making adjustments when something is not working.
Planning for Growth
As our community continues to grow, our school system must be prepared to grow with it in a smart and responsible way. That means ensuring adequate classrooms, hiring and retaining quality teachers, and investing in infrastructure before overcrowding becomes a problem. Growth should never come at the expense of student learning or classroom quality. With proper planning and forward-looking leadership, we can make sure every new student has access to the same high-quality education and opportunities as every current student.
